Announcements
It has been a very successful day for students at The Oxford Academy, who are celebrating a strong set of exam results. The outcomes for students builds on the ‘positive transformation’ [Ofsted, Oct 2023] seen at the Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ Sixth Form. Results have shown the percentage of students achieving A*-A, A*-B and A*-C at A-Level, and average point scores for vocational qualifications, have all significantly improved.
Seeing our young people achieve their results is always a special time as they start the next chapter in their lives. Proudly diverse and inclusive, the support our school has given to our students is evident in the varied and aspirational pathways our students have chosen for their next steps of study. We would like to recognise some stand out individual results:
Jared Yeo = A*AA in Maths, Biology and Chemistry - will be reading Chemical Engineering at the University of Bath
Akash Singh = ABB in Maths Biology and Chemistry - will be reading Chemistry at King’s College, University of London
Lily Gray-Laxton = ABB in English, Geography and Psychology
Ashley Arcenal = A, B Distinction* in Maths, Biology and Sports Studies - will be reading Sport and Maths at Loughborough University
Kimora Gandye - B, B, Distinction in Sociology, English Literature and Business Studies - will be reading Law at the University of Liverpool
We are extremely proud to announce that we have students from across the cohort going to study at some of the most prestigious universities in the country, including Russell Group universities such as York, Nottingham and Cardiff.
Headteacher, Mrs Nora Ward, said “The Oxford Academy, through our Commitment to Others and Commitment to Learning, continues to be a place where our students flourish personally and academically. The strength of the sixth form is that staff know their students well and are always looking for ways in which to enrich the students' experience and support their transition into adult life. I am very proud of our students, and look forward to seeing what the future holds for them all.”
Head of Sixth Form, Mr Michael O’Hanlon, said: “We are so proud of this cohort and we would like to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate students, staff and families. It has been a real privilege to work with this group of students and we wish them all the best for the future. They will always be #TeamTOA and we are looking forward to seeing them achieve future success.”
We wish all our students the very best for the future.
